I started doing handyman services when I founded Charlottesville Handyman Services in 2004. As I was teaching a unit on Entrepreneurship to my Advanced Marketing class I discovered the handyman business. I have always liked fixing things and have spent the past 30 years doing home improvement projects. Wow! There was actually a business doing what I loved to do. I decided to follow my heart and start doing handyman work. After growing the business from working by myself to up to 5 employees, I sold the business in 2023 with the plan to come back after fulfilling a non-compete agreement. After spending a year and 1/2 working on my own houses and moving to Earlysville, I started doing handyman work again at the end of 2024.
I taught Marketing and Business at William Monroe High School from 1996 to 2004, also serving as Webmaster, Yearbook Advisor, and DECA Advisor. Before that, I taught Marketing at Madison County High School for five years and coached the wrestling team. I earned a B.S. in Marketing Education from Virginia Tech and a Master’s in Education from Walden University. Outside of teaching, I worked in insurance and investments with Lutheran Brotherhood and completed management training with Eighty-Four Lumber, which gave me a strong foundation in business and construction.
I'm married to a former teacher, Angela, and have four adult children. I enjoy hiking, drumming, and juggling at the Air Raid Juggling Club. I am an active member of Cornerstone Community Church. I've been involved in Honduras Mission teams, Southwest Virginia Mission teams, and local jail ministry.
